Description
Formed in 1994 by a veritable who's-who of Hollywood progeny (bass player Sam Farrar is the son of songwriter-producer John Farrar; drummer-turned-actor Jason Schwartzman (RUSHMORE) is nephew to Francis Ford Coppola), L.A.'s Phantom Planet crafts an infectious brand of pop-punk influenced by 90s-era grunge and indie rock. The band rocketed to fame in 2002 with their second full-length album THE GUEST--whose hit single "California" became even more ubiquitous as the theme song for teen soap opera THE O.C.--and followed it up with 2004's critically acclaimed PHANTOM PLANET. CHICAGO, CHICAGOGOING, CHICAGOGONE captures the band on their 2004 tour, rocking Chicago's Schuba Tavern with live renditions of "By the Bed," "Big Brat," "1st Things 1st," "The Happy Ending," and more.
