For one of his best film scores to date, Danny Elfman provides a wonderful backdrop to Tim Burton's delightful movie remake of the classic Roald Dahl novel, that stars who else but Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. From a director / composer partnership that has spawned some truly memorable films and scores such as 'Edward Scissorhands' and 'Sleepy Hollow' to name just two, Elfman has surpassed even himself with this latest work. Quirky, clever and above all, like the film, it's a whole lot of fun that lends itself superbly to one of the best films of the year.
