Chaplin's 'Little Tramp' character, with his baggy trousers, oversized shoes and toothbrush moustache first waddled his way into film in 1914. He captivated his audiences through his ability to relate to everyday life and won the people's hearts through his comedic outlook. A superstar was born. Born in London on the 26th April 1989, Charlie Chaplin's career in acting started at the tender age of 5, while singing on stage for his mother, who had become ill. Between the age of 17 to 24, Chaplin performed in England with the Fred Karno's Touring Stage Company. While in New York in 1910, Keystone Studio's Mack Sennett saw potential in Chaplin during a tour with the English vaudeville troupe and in 1913, Chaplin had signed to the studio to perform on the Silver Screen in LA. Volume 1 contains: THE RINK (1916) Chaplin decides to use his lunch break from work to go Roller-skating. This short silent comedy contains a classic drink-mixing scene, which will leave you in stitches. Written & Directed by Charlie Chaplin. THE FLOORWALKER (1916) This funny slapstick features Chaplin running amuck on the sales and office levels of a department store. As in most cases, Chaplin ends up on top of the situation.
