Description
'Bubblegum' is the highly anticipated new album from the mighty MARK LANEGAN - best known as the former frontman for 90s indie/grunge icons THE SCREAMING TREES and, more recently, as a key member of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.
The new album is anything but bubblegum! 15 original tracks based on the purity of dirtfloor blues, earthy, raw, percussive, and with the gravelly vocals of a street preacher, Lanegan now comes across like a younger TOM WAITS or BEEFHEART in training.
Lanegan hinted at the brilliance of ‘Bubblegum’ with last year’s critically acclaimed teaser EP, ‘Here Comes That Weird Chill…'.
Heavyweight musical assistance comes from luminaries including; JOSHUA HOMME and NICK OLIVERI (QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE), PJ HARVEY (provides vocals on two tracks), IZZY STRADLIN and DUFF MCKAGAN (GUNS AND ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER), GREG DULLI (AFGHAN WHIGS/TWILIGHT SINGERS), DEAN WEEN (WEEN), ALAIN JOHANNES (ELEVEN), and CHRIS GOSS (MASTERS OF REALITY).
