Description
Few singer / songwriters can claim as unique a career launch as acoustic groovemaster Jack Johnson. The 26 year old Hawaiian has emerged as one of the freshest new voices and most sought after artists in the independent music world.
A pro-surfer and noted surf film maker, Jack Johnson used his soulful folk / blues tunes as musical beds for his films. It wasn't long before his songs began circulating in all corners of the global surf community, both as legitimate recordings and bootlegs.
In keeping with the ethos that guided him away from a pro sports career in favour of a creative existence, Jack Johnsan recorded his debut LP 'Brushfire Fairytales' with the help of JP Plunier - Ben Harper's Manager / Producer. 'Brushfire Fairytales' is an impressive debut on numerous levels, from the opening track 'Inaudible Melodies' to the psychedelic 'Bubble Toes', it's a multi-faceted work by a modern day journeyman. The first radio track 'Flake' features Ben Harper on slide guitar and has garnered significant airplay across the U.S. where the album was released last year.
