Description
John Fogerty's latest cd, THE BLUE RIDGE RANGERS RIDES AGAIN, is actually a follow up to his 1973 THE BLUE RIDGE RANGERS. Fogerty released the 1973 album only months after the break-up of Creedence Clearwater Revival and did not want it to ride of the coat tails of the band's incredible popularity.
In THE BLUE RIDGE RANGERS RIDES AGAIN, 64 year old Fogerty takes a departure from song writing to cover mostly country music hits. John Denver's "Back Home Again" and Ray Price's "Never Ending Song of Love" and "Haunted House" sound wonderful when rendered in Fogerty's gravelly voice. He is also joined on the album by some amazing guest singers. Bruce Springsteen lends his voice on the Everly Brothers' "When Will I Be Loved," and Eagles alums Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit team up with Fogerty for Rick Nelson's "Garden Party."
The California born rocker's music has always had a country edge, and his voice is well suited to the songs of this cd. Featuring instruments such as the fiddle, mandolin, and steel guitar, this album will be a hit with country music fans, but Fogerty and CCR fans will not be disappointed. THE BLUE RIDGE RANGERS RIDES AGAIN has something for everyone and songs that fans of every age already love.
