Description
Turn out the lights, light the candles, but be careful what you wish for.
John (
Ben Chaplin-"The Thin Red Line") is a shy, introverted bank teller who has never been lucky in love.or life, for that matter. Having lost faith in the idea of meeting his soul mate at the local supermarket, John gambles on a Russian mail order bride arranged via the Internet. There must have been a screw-up in his order because "From Russia With Love" delivers something quite different: the enigmatic Nadia (Kidman), a chain-smoking, cheaply clothed, mysterious young lady whose English vocabulary consists only of "yes". Who needs it, though, when there is the language of love.
As if John's life hadn't changed enough, Nadia's dubious looking Russian "cousins", Yuri and Alexei, show up unexpectedly for her birthday celebrations. It is an arrival that turns John's dull existence suddenly upside down — he is going to learn the shocking truth about their relationship and it will propel him on the ride of his life.
