Oh WOW!!! This band always does something that is just a little ahead of it's time within the Urban Groove / Acid Jazz/ funk style so every album is better than the last and this one is markedly better than everything you've heard in the past from COUNT BASIC. Even though the meaning of "Basic" is "simple", Countbasic's sound should be considered as varied and surprising. All previous influences are there for the fans but this time Countbasic heads a long way down the road into classic soul sounds (Philly lovers will need to play "Aint You Had Enough" nice and loud). PETER LEGAT, founder of Countbasic, is definitely focusing this album on r&b over the decades but also maintains the acid jazziness that original fans have folowed through the albums. KELLI SAE'S distinctive voice and lyrics are stunning.
