Description
First time on CD for Guy Clark's fifth album, originally released in 1983 on Warner Bros. Produced by Rodney Crowell, fresh from success with hits by Rosanne Cash, it features Clark's first hit single "Homegrown Tomatoes". But beyond the hit, Clark establishes himself as a polished songwriter and storyteller as evidenced by the haunting story of his father "Randal Knife". Recorded in Nashville but including many of the LA new country session players that are featured on Clark's previous album. Joining Vince Gill, Emory Gordy and Hank DeVito are Bob Wills fiddler Johnny Gimble and Nashville guitar ace Reggie Young.
