Inspired by the classic French fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast The TV Series propelled the fable into modern times, but kept its timeless quality throughout it’s 3 year run.

Starring Linda Hamilton of Terminator fame as Catherine, a savvy assistant District attorney and a relatively unknown character actor Ron Perlman, who had previously starred in Quest for Fire and The Name of the Rose before landing himself them lead role of Vincent the mythic, noble man-beast. Perlman is now best known for his roles in Alien Resurrection, City of Lost Children and his most famous role, the cigar chomping, cat loving, demon… Hellboy.

Beauty and the Beast first aired on CBS in 1987, and told the story of Catherine, Vincent and a secret Utopian community of social outcasts living in a subterranean sanctuary. Through an empathic bond, Vincent senses Catherine’s emotions, and becomes her guardian. The series follows the developing relationship between the characters and the division between New York and the hidden world beneath it.
