At the Cafe Bohemia, Vol. 1 is first of the two volumes featuring the original version of the Jazz Messengers, the quintet co-led by drummer Art Blakey and pianist Horace Silver that also featured trumpeter Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley on tenor, and bassist Doug Watkins.
