Gym Class Heroes are a four-member alternative hip-hop band from Geneva, New York. It was the band’s alternative hip-hop style and use of live instruments in favour of looped samples and canned beats that caught the attention of Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, who immediately signed the group to his Decaydance imprint.

The band has produced an original hip-hop sound fusing crisp guitar rhythms, deep melodic bass lines, head cracking beats and conscious lyrics to create a sound that is truly their own.

Gym Class Heroes sophomore release “As Cruel As School Children” was produced by S*A*M (aka Sam Hollander, hailed for his collaborations with Method Man, the Sounds, and Earth, Wind & Fire) and Sluggo (the alter-ego of renowned session bassist Dave Katz, known for his work with Roger Daltrey), with co-production from the band’s close mate, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy.

The first single ‘Cupid’s Chokehold’, a top 5 hit in the US, was originally featured on the bands debut album ‘The Papercut Chronicles’ and has been slightly reworked using a sample from Supertramp ‘Breakfast In America’. It features Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy on vocals.
