Highly anticipated debut album from Sri Lankan born but London based M.I.A. (aka Maya Arulpragasam). Last year’s singles Galang and Sunshowers picked up stacks of community radio and Triple J play as has current single Pull Up The People. M.I.A. was one of the hits of the recent SXSW festival in the USA and has just signed a deal for North America with Interscope. M.I.A.'s sound has been described as "Uncompromising and provocative" (Harpers and Queens), "Shaking Up Hip Hop" (Interview Mag) and "Fuses hip hops cockiness with dancehalls shimmy and the cheap and noisy aesthetics of punk" (Spin). The album has been previously available as a US import but the local release has a bonus track URAQT.
