It took five years of practice, foresight on extreme metal trends, and a willingness to stand behind lyrical and musical content that are beyond the pale, even now, but with 1989's ALTARS OF MADNESS, Florida's Morbid Angel delivered one of the early classics of death metal. This reissue of the group's second album features a remastering job that shoves the extremity of their music right into the listener's face, as well as a handful of remixes and enhanced video clips, showing the band in all its gory glory in seminal early live performances.
