Description
Airway Lanes is a new group out of Melbourne that formed in late 2004, featuring the vocal and song writing talents of Dan Hall.
Hall was a founding member of Taxiride who helped steer the band to win an ARIA, two top 20 singles and a number one album in 1999 that went on to sell 300,000 copies.
In 2000, Dan decided to move on and has spent the last five years refining his song writing talents and gaining a loyal fan base in Melbourne through frequent acoustic shows before collaborating with Chris Hawker which saw the beginning of Airway Lanes.
January 2006 saw Airway Lanes head into Sing Sing studios in Melbourne, with producer/engineer Jimi Maroudas (Pete Murray/The Living End) to lay down a five track EP. The result? A guitar based melodic rock sound with an attention to lyrical content. Early reports have them being compared to REM or The Replacements in their early days, with bursts of The Smiths and Nirvana.
