Boyish, irresponsible Jimmy Venables is back for a 2nd series, and still somehow managing to grow older without growing up. Part-time dad Jimmy has been trying to smarten up his act - though only after his wife Ann divorced him. A pity too, because he still gets on with her, and he's mad about his kids, Molly and Alex. About the only person Jimmy can't get on with is his mother-in-law Diana, who sees the reckless Jimmy as the Devil incarnate. Jimmy accidentally catches Diana in the shower, Diana discovers how to tell when Jimmy is lying and lets his girlfriend, Siobhan, in on the secret and Ann's return means both are surplus to requirements.
