David Jason stars as unconventional policeman Detective Inspector Jack Frost, whose arrogance and indifference to orthodox police procedures masks a keen sense of observation and a dedication to solving crime. Based on the books by R.D. Wingfield, each feature length episode shows Frost unravelling complex cases with his special touch of sharp instinct, dogged determination and compassion. Appropriate Adults – An 8 year old girl is missing and the last person to see her is Billy Conrad, a gentle young man with Down’s syndrome, who appears to have something to hide. Quarry – A young protester who was part of a group of saboteurs trying to disrupt the local hunt is fatally injured. Suspicion falls on many, including the hunt organisers and some of the saboteurs themselves. Frost picks up a new lead when the body of a covert animal rights activist is discovered. Dead Male One – A body is found floating in the river and the victim is not who he claimed to be. Further, the star player of a local soccer team collapses from a drug overdose. Was it a mistake or the deliberate act of an unseen hand? No Refuge - After four burglaries in four days at the same house, Frost comes up with a surprising arrest as a result of lateral thinking. Inspiration is also needed when he and a female Detective Sergeant tackle a team of armed robbers after a robbery and murder at a factory.
