Description
This darkly comedic French drama of family dysfunction reunites real life father and son Gérard Depardieu and
Guillaume Depardieu in two devastatingly brilliant performances. Leo Shepherd is a renowned French author who has just learnt he has won the Nobel Prize for literature. However, while recognised as a brilliant writer, Leo is an emotionally distant failure as a father. Although his daughter Virginia manages some of his business affairs, it's immediately obvious that she is carrying a lot of baggage while Leo's son Paul has not spoken to his father in years, isolated by the memories of an abusive childhood. However when Paul learns that Leo has won the Nobel Prize, he embarks on a long trip in a final attempt at connecting with his estranged father. But when things don't go as planned, a freak accident and the recent emotional trauma pushes Paul into kidnapping Leo. author, have the opportunity to spend some 'quality time' together which could either save or destroy the family altogether.
