Description
In 1975 pop / country vocalist GLEN CAMPBELL burst back into international mainstream prominence with the biggest hit of his career, his first US #1, 'Rhinestone Cowboy'. Two years later, he pulled off much the same feat with another gold album and a second US #1 single Southern Nights, his countrified version of Allen Toussaint's New Orleans masterpiece. This striking album, long unavailable, featured songs written by Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Neil Diamond and one Michael Smotherman, an intriguing singer-songwriter who wrote the entirety of Campbell's next album, 1978's Basic. This Raven CD brings together both of those highly regarded and important 70s albums on one disc and includes three bonus tracks from single A & B sides, including Paul Williams' 'Another Fine Mess'. Another Campbell essential!
